My name is Sonia Ron, a 20-year resident of Washington Borough, running for Council in November 2020. As a long-term resident I have experienced the ups and downs, celebrations and tragedies in our community. I have over fifteen years of experience in the field of community outreach, mental health, communication, and advertising with a focus on results-oriented solutions and team building.

I will work with Borough Council to:

• Aid in recovery from the COVID-19 shutdown by advocating for federal and state aid for the Borough of Washington;

• Work alongside the WBID to support current businesses as we recover from the COVID-19 shutdown, restart stalled projects, and recruit new businesses;

• Focus on the health and safety of our community in collaboration with the Warren County Health Department and the Washington EMS, Fire and Police Departments;

• Advocate for mental health, addiction and recovery support services;

• Maintain fiscal responsibility and pay down our debt while seeking grants and shared services agreements to save taxpayer dollars;

• Promote the sale and redevelopment of vacant and abandoned properties;

• Support our local schools to attract families to our community and increase property values.
